I am coming from out of town and I was wondering about the spillway conditions. Is it rideable after all of the flooding? Are there any other good trails in the area?

I’ve been thinking exactly the same, rope of an easier route on The Beast and we can have a great Time Trial, I’ve mentioned it before about a TT at Tunica, but haven’t brought it further. I’ll talked to the guys and see if we can put some pressure on it, I know for fact several actually like the trail and would most likely join in.

The objective of me going anaerobic for 20+ minutes was accomplished yesterday. The extra mileage from running across the street and back was bonus. That said people go ‘tarded when they’re racing bikes, probably something scientific about it, oxygen debt and all. We need it to be utterly clear where to go.

Having your next TT at The Trail That Cannot Be Named would be fine with me, we could rope off a flatlander-friendly course. Just ask.

That was fun… I was looking at Google maps to see how far off course I went. Looks like I did the center loop south of Harrison before crossing back over. I’m guessing about an extra 3400 feet. Bigger signage would be GREAT. I might put a warning at THE hole where the concrete is missing too… Just a thought. Thanks for a great morning.

I used to ride trails in City Park when I first got a mountain bike in late ’90s but stopped due to the growing number of sleazy gay guys that were lurking around. The trails were centered around a “large” hill and skirted the bayou by the soccer fields and circle track. This has always been an issue out there so I would be careful where you try to build a trail. There are, or were trails near the old Scout Island that had the same issue. I am not anti-gay, I am anti casual public sex between males while trying to ride my bike.
