May is National Bike month.. What better way to bring forth the excitement of biking than having a MTB Race..
NOMAMBO is hosting the SPILLWAY SCRAMBLE May 20th. This race is the 3rd race of this years LAXC Series. We invite all of you to come out and enjoy the Race festivities.
You do not have to be a Pro or Cat 1 racer to enjoy the race experience. Our Cat 2 and Cat3 fields are growing with enthusiastic riders who have decided to compete and join the FUN. If you have never raced before, The SPILLWAY SCRAMBLE has the BEST trail in LA to get started in. Cat 3 racers will begin the day of racing. After the Cat3 competitors finish their race, the Pro’s, Cat1, SS and Cat2′s will race.. The Spillway Scramble is a family event including a kids race for the youngsters.. This coming Wednesday 7pm there’s the monthly club-meeting at Rotolo’s Pizzeria 2125 Veterans Memorial Blvd
Metairie.

Sunday is workday, we need weed eaters, showels, weed killers and whatever you can think of to make the trail in perfect condition, remember we have the Scramble coming up in May and let’s show everyone that we know how to maintain a perfect trail.

Thanks to everyone who signed up and made this yet an unforgettable day at the Spillway, the trail needs to be used and it does.

And a special thanks to the Timing team, Photo Team and off course the Grand Master TT Tim(e) Thompson…. We can’t wait til the next Time Trial, which will be rescheduled due to the fact that we are having the Spillway Scramble in May.

At Bonnett Carre Spillway, yet again a fabulous present of Trek Factory Demo, come out try the bike that’s gonna make you cry of joy, lots of bikes to try. Demo starts at 10am….Read more about Trek Factory Demo. And you might need to bring some stuff, read the FAQ here.

At 8am our brilliant host Tim Thompson roll out a new nerve wrecking Time Trial, this will be the 3rd in the 2012 Time Trial Series on the Spillway show up and lets make it bigger and better than ever. Read more about the Time Trial details.

Thanks to everyone showing up for the second Time Trial of the year, we did not reach as many racers as the last Time Trial… BUT that doesn’t mean that the race is over, we have the first indication of the score board, read the results here there is no doubt who is in the leading role at the moment, there is 4 more Time Trials to race, so we are not at all done yet, so lube the chain and get that MTB going for you!

Results, they are in, Sundays racers went fast and even though the trail condition wasn’t perfect, we had some wet spots, some standing water around, but fast times where made… We got some of the young riders improve their times significantly, but see for your self, it’s all here.

We have seen a bunch of new riders coming out to our trail and we LOVE it, especially them that are in club jersey’s so we can see which teams you guys belongs to.

Yet again our Time Trial Master Tim Thompson has pulled of some of his magic, and we bet there is way more where that comes from. And a special thanks to the timing girls, Donna, Megan and whoever we here forgot!

Short of the day, we had decent weather, a little cold but good for riding, we where afraid rain would set us out, but we ended up with good riding conditions, which you’ll be able to see in the results. We got 3 riders under 21 minutes, impressive and there should be more fast times to come soon. Next time trial is March 11th (see info).

Or be there and looooose… Anyway, we have already seen phenomenal fast times been nailed down in 2012, but nothing recorded officially, so now is the time, the dates are set, the Spillway trail is still there and better than ever…
